Bridgend Coastal Path

Rest BayBridgend County's Coastal Path is an 11.5 mile pathway which is part of the All Wales Coastal Path, that provides a continuous walking route around the whole of Wales and totals 870 miles.

Exploring our part of the Coastal Path is a great way of finding out more about Bridgend County's history. Running along this spectacular coastline from Merthyr Mawr, Porthcawl, Sker and Kenfig, you'll find churches, castles and interesting villages along the way, all with an intriguing history and story to tell.

This impressive route is dominated by an extensive sand dune system that was once the largest in Europe. Through the centuries, part of this system has been eroded but two important sections remain, Merthyr Mawr Sand Dunes and those at Kenfig National Nature Reserve.

The newly constructed boardwalk running from Rest Bay through to Pink Bay has made this section of the Coastal Path accessible to all, especially those with mobility issues.
